Our next general meeting will be held on January 6, 2012, at the Westminster Hills Outreach Center in South Hayward beginning at 6:00 P.M. Members whose names go from A-L should bring a favorite main dish, and M-Z should bring a salad or dessert. Our featured speaker will be Supervisor Nadia Lockyer, who will address us at 7:00 P.M. Thank you to all who made the Fall Festival an unqualified success! Our next Executive Board meeting will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Westminster Hills/New Bridges, beginning at 6:30 P.M. At that meeting we will schedule a date for the October general membership meeting. Our next ‘general meeting’ is the Fall Festival. We will have Brigid O’Farrell as a speaker. She has written a wonderful book about Eleanor Roosevelt, and her relationship to the working class. Brigid O’Farrell is an independent scholar whose research and writing has focused on employment equity, especially for women in nontraditional jobs. She has traveled from factories in New England to fire and police stations in the Southwest, from child care programs in the Midwest and Alaska to union meetings across the country.
